Kay Larche
- Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Resident of Delray Beach since 1974.
- Graduate Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Fla. (B.A. Sociology).
- Work towards Master of Public Administration in Growth Management under Dr. John DeGrove.
- F.A.U. Graduate Assistant at Joint Environmental Center, F.A.U., in D.R.I. (Developments of Regional Impact) study.
- 1965-'67 - U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer Service: Community Organizer, Antofagasta, Chile.
- In Delray Beach served on various Boards including Delray Community Child Care Center, Women's Political Caucus, South
PBC League of Women Voters. Founding Board member/Treasurer of The Soup Kitchen of Boynton Beach.
- 1996-2007 - Employed as Family Support Specialist and Director of Homework Help Program by Redlands Christian Migrant
Association (RCMA) and Farmworker Children's Council at In The Pines Farmworker Housing, Delray Beach.
- Two children, Megan and Will Larche, both fourth generation Floridians who now live in New York.
- I have long been interested in the history of Florida, its people and their migrations/immigrations, the land and its
changing development. I came to volunteer at Loxahatchee with an interest in the complexities of preserving and
promoting this valuable community resource.
