Hello Friends,

By the time you read this some of you will have already participated in National Public Lands Day (Sept. 26) by helping to weed and trim certain public use areas in preparation for the Grand Opening of our new exhibits. Some volunteers may also have been contacted to come in for training on the operation of the exhibits. Predictions from other facilities after a major new installation is that visitation can increase as much as 50-70%. The Refuge needs you more than ever!

  • Do you like to meet and greet folks and tell them about the wonders of the Refuge?
We need you at the front desk-------------------------NOW.
  • Would you like to help people find wonderful gifts for themselves, children, and grandchildren?
We need you in the Gift Shop-------------------------NOW.
  • Would you like to show visitors the new exhibits and answer their questions?
We need you in the Visitor Center exhibit area------NOW.
  • Would you like to learn to go out to community groups to tell them about the Refuge and Visitor Center?
We need you on our Speaker's Bureau---------------NOW.
  • Would you like to help with outdoor maintenance projects, assist the field biologists, or help in writing grant funding applications?
    We need you to volunteer------------------------------NOW.

By volunteering you will reverse the NOW so that you and the Refuge will both have WON.

Thanks again.
