Hello Friends:

We have launched a new juried art contest entitled LOXAHATCHEE VISIONS. Here are the rules and entry form. The submission deadline is Oct 17 and the awards reception is Oct 24. If you know of artists who might be interested please let them know about it.

On May 13 the SE REGIONAL DIRECTOR'S AWARDS will be presented in Atlanta. Congratulations to Nancy Marshall and Nick Aumen who will be receiving Volunteer of the Year Prizes for their work in bringing our new exhibits to fruition.

Then on May 19-20 in Washington DC the Everglades Foundation will be convening the first ever EVERGLADES SUMMIT of major NGOs and government agencies that deal with our most precious resource. Pauline Stacey will be there to represent us.

And finally, a bit of mixed feeling news. The contract to rebuild the CYPRESS SWAMP BOARDWALK has been finalized and the project is set to commence later in May. The work could last 9 months. Every effort will be made to keep part of the walkway open during the construction period.
